He Lives! (Easter 2026)
In the Easter message titled He Lives!, Pastor Allen Victor emphasized that this day stood as the most important moment in all of history—greater than milestones like July 4, 1776, D-Day on June 6, 1944, or the moon landing on July 20, 1969—because it marked the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the assurance of life after death. Pastor Allen explained that while humanity has spent billions of dollars searching for life on other planets, the far more important question was whether there is life after death. He taught that to answer that question, someone would need to come from heaven, die, and return with proof—something Jesus both claimed and accomplished (John 3:13; Mark 8:31). He made it clear that these claims were either completely true or completely false, stressing that truth required evidence.
Allen pointed to 1 Corinthians 15:14–18, explaining that if Christ had not risen, preaching and faith would be empty, and humanity would still be in sin. However, he declared that Christ did rise and provided evidence, including the raising of Lazarus (John 11:1–44), where Jesus intentionally delayed His arrival (John 11:6) and then called Lazarus from the grave (John 11:38–44), demonstrating His authority over death. Allen then walked through the resurrection account in John 20:1–17, describing how Mary Magdalene found the empty tomb, how Peter and John confirmed it, and how Jesus revealed Himself alive. He addressed skeptical theories such as the wrong tomb or a stolen body, but showed that the empty tomb, eyewitness testimony (John 20:1–8; 1 Corinthians 15:5–8), the martyrdom of the apostles, and transformed lives all served as compelling evidence.
Pastor Allen taught that unbelief was not due to a lack of evidence, but because people love darkness rather than light. He then proclaimed the promise of Jesus in John 11:25–26, that those who believe in Him would never truly die. He explained the concept of two births and two deaths, emphasizing that while physical death was certain, the second death described in Revelation 20:12–15 could be avoided only through being born again (John 3:3). Tracing back to the fall in Genesis 2:15–17 and the spiritual death caused by sin (Ezekiel 18:20), he showed the necessity of spiritual rebirth. He concluded by presenting the gospel clearly through John 3:16, John 1:12–13, and Romans 10:8–13, urging listeners to believe, confess, and call upon the Lord for salvation. Allen closed with the powerful question from Jesus, “Do you believe?” reminding all that true belief would be demonstrated through a transformed life.
This message was shared at Calvary Chapel West Jacksonville, a church under the leadership of Pastor Allen Victor.
