Tribulation Temple Timeline (Revelation 11)
Pastor Allen opened the sermon by reading Isaiah 6:1 and reflecting on how, in a time of uncertainty, the Lord revealed Himself to Isaiah. He emphasized the importance of understanding the significance of the temple in the context of worship and sacrifice in the Old Testament and how believers today are considered the temple of the Holy Spirit.
As Pastor Allen discussed the timeline of the four temples mentioned in Scripture, he pointed out that the first two were destroyed, leaving a gap since 70 A.D. when the second temple was destroyed by the Romans. He underscored that believers are now the temple, filled with the Holy Spirit, which highlights the significance of their spiritual state. He reported that since the destruction of the second temple, the Jewish people have sought to connect with God through alternative means, but without the ability to offer sacrifices as prescribed in the Law.
The conversation shifted to the future temples, particularly focusing on the tribulation temple mentioned in Revelation. Pastor Allen noted the speculations about how the temple could be rebuilt, despite the presence of the Dome of the Rock. He explored the transitional tension that exists surrounding this site and suggested that peace between the Jewish people and others may be brokered through the efforts of the Antichrist.
Pastor Allen transitioned to discuss the two witnesses in Revelation 11, suggesting they could be Elijah and Moses. He emphasized their role in proclaiming God’s truth during the tribulation. He highlighted the power and authority that comes through speaking God’s word and how it serves as a warning to those who oppose it.
Toward the end of the sermon, Pastor Allen discussed the ultimate reign of Christ, as declared when the seventh angel sounded the trumpet. He conveyed a vision of hope and urged the congregation to hold steadfast to their faith, reminding them that the world’s kingdoms would fall under the supremacy of Christ. The message concluded with a call to live out their faith boldly, being aware of God’s presence and the power available to them as His temple.
